The wake-up call! I'll never forget it. That moment you feel like giving up and then you realize something has to change. I tried everything I possibly could to make the picture of how my life was supposed to go come true...but it didn't work that way. I can't mold anyone but myself......and attempt to mold my children!
I can't make someone love me the way I want to be loved. I can only love them the way I would hope they would love me in return. The yelling was a constant...seeing holes in the wall was depressing. God only knew when the next one would appear. Life was so empty.
You ask yourself did the kids hear anything or are they still sleeping.
So many questions come to mind when you're in that moment. Time stands still for just a second; with hundreds of questions running through your mind.....I need to leave now, I have to get out, how do I get out.... what will they do? But, then you start blaming yourself, making it all your fault, the words spoken have sunk in and you are STUCK!
You feel as you have nowhere to go, no one to call. You start mapping everything out in your mind of what if you stayed, what if you didn't. If you only tried to do this another way things would be better.
But that's not how it works and you don't realize it yet because you feel like you still have the strength to keep fighting for that perfectly painted picture! When you really need to be fighting for yourself!
WAKE UP CALL:
Keep fighting for that perfectly painted picture in your mind but for yourself, stop letting someone dim your light! Stop giving time and effort to those that give you nothing in return. That feeling you feel inside you...the feeling you were meant to be so much more than you are today! Listen to it!
You can overcome everything that was meant to defeat you! You just have to stop giving up on yourself. The only person who will believe in you the most is YOURSELF!
So get your pen out, write your story, we all have one! When you're done....sign off, "Sincerely Her"! Drop that mic...that story of yours in history, it's time to move on to the next story! Believe in yourself, take your power back, I know you can do it! I did!
